This inner west suburb is just 16 kilometres from Sydney CBD. Located in the Auburn LGA, it’s situated on the south side of Parramatta River, on the shore of Homebush Bay.
Getting there and getting around
The area is serviced well by buses (Route 526) and ferries (between Parramatta and Circular Quay). The closest train station is Olympic Park. There are dedicated cycling and walking tracks in Bicentennial Park and the Millenium Parklands, along with bike paths to Parramatta and Olympic Park.
Lifestyle and population
With a population of just over 2,700, the area is well serviced by a range of recreation facilities. The two most popular locations for recreation are Olympic Park and Homebush Bay – where there is a lot of sailing, rowing, kayaking and dragon boating activity. Wentworth Point has a popular club ‘Pulse’, with a gym, indoor heated 25 metre pool and tennis courts.
Wentworth Point has a fairly young and vibrant population. The median age is 32 and residents come from a variety of cultural backgrounds. More than 50% of residents were born outside Australia and come from countries including India, South Korea, China, UK and New Zealand. At present the number of families in the area is around 758, with an average of 1.4 children per family.

Wentworth Point is part of the current trend towards apartment and higher density living, with over 99% of occupied private dwellings being apartments, flats or units. Just 0.3% are stand alone houses, with 0.5% being townhouses, semi-detached, row or terrace houses.
