Mortlake is part of the City of Canada Bay. Its unique peninsula location, on the southern banks of the Parramatta River and close to Majors Bay, makes it a very attractive location. The suburb is 17 kilometres west of Sydney CBD.
Getting there and getting around
Mortlake is home to the famous Putney Punt (or Mortlake Ferry) which is the last remaining punt service in Sydney. You can also access the suburb by bus. Routes 439, L39 and 464 all terminate in Mortlake.
Lifestyle and population
This peninsula suburb has a village like feel, with a range of cafes, restaurants and local shops. It is within easy walking distance of both Cabarita and Breakfast Point. The small population of just over 750 is made up mostly of property owners (71.5%), with renters a smaller percentage (38.5%).
